“When you think of a dream, what would you think of?” asked Ana Ramirez of Choristers, as she’s describing the theme of our recent concert. “It’s like a sense of peace and confidence and seeing your goals in life. I feel like these songs emphasize that. It was really good,” she said.
The mid-winter concert, “Dream”, was held on February 22 at the WashU music center. The audience was entranced by an inspiring collection of music that included classics like a selection from Hänsel and Gretel sung by Chorale, a Lullaby performed by Music Makers, “This Little Light of Mine” performed by Choristers, and an astounding piano solo by 8-year-old Thomas Brinton.
“The performances are really amazing. You’ve got kids from 6 years old up to seniors in high school who are learning music and performing at levels that are surprising,” said Dale Henn, friend of SLCC. “But it’s also the joy you see in that performance. They’re having fun.”
